Craftsman Corner Desk

This is an Craftsman style corner desk, designed and built with a murphy bed (see LJ Post). As with the bed, the customer designed it and drove in from Natchitoches, LA to finalize everything

Craftsman Style Murphy Bed with Hidden Desk

This is a new style finished in December 2011. It was designed by the customer. I’ve built a mission style Murphy bed for them in the past in black (see picture). She came with me with the design and the layout worked nice with a folding table. Most tables added to Murphy beds look like they were just added to the front without any thought. I love it when customers allow me to build one that is more inset and integrated into the overall piece. The desk legs are the top/center double doors and the three drawer fronts come down with the desk. It is similar to how I build my Smithsonian Murphy bed.

Pair of Chest

These are a couple chest of drawers that I modeled after on from one of my suppliers. The customer loved the style but wanted it in oak. The only color available was a cappuccino finish. They also changed up the sizes a little. It was built and finished in December 2011.

It has a post and panel style sides. The bottom is arched to leave it open. I also gaped the space between the drawer fronts a little more then normal. Normally I leave a 1/4” gap, but this time I left about a 1/2” to keep with the original design. One that I did deviate from was the drawer guides. The one from my supplier had epoxy coated side mount rails. I chose to use the ball barring full extension rails.

You can watch us build this live from our Current Projects page at wwbeds and poggyskids.com Also at the site photographs are posted each day of our work.
