This is a new style finished in December 2011. It was designed by the customer. I’ve built a mission style Murphy bed for them in the past in black (see picture). She came with me with the design and the layout worked nice with a folding table. Most tables added to Murphy beds look like they were just added to the front without any thought. I love it when customers allow me to build one that is more inset and integrated into the overall piece. The desk legs are the top/center double doors and the three drawer fronts come down with the desk. It is similar to how I build my Smithsonian Murphy bed.

Contempo Murphy Bed

This is a murphy bed completed in December 2009. It is a new style, which turned out to be a popular one. I’ve build a few of these last month. It is a real simple one with a contemporary look I call the Contempo. This one has just one bookcase.

Football Locker Murphy Bed

This is a version of my locker murphy bed. It was built in November 2009. This is a murphy bed built to resemble a football locker. I normally build this in a baseball style. The inside headboard is designed like a scoreboard. This is taken from my regular baseball bed. The outside has graphics to look like vents, a name plate that doubles as the support leg and lock. The team graphic was one that was bought and applied.
This style is alway a fun one to build.
Here are some raw video of the build:

Pair of Murphy Beds

This is a pair of murphy beds that were built and shipped unfinished. They were completed in October 2009. What is unique about these are they are apart of the same unit. The two queen wall beds are separated by a 18" bookcase. The Hudson Bay as I call it is simply the Alpine with some added molding. I say simply but it's not that simple. There is 32 pieces, 64 in all that has to be cut and mitered on both ends. Each piece of molding is hand sanded, fit, attached, and sanded again. There is a lot of labor involved.
The overall width of this unit is 146" at the base and 148 1/2" (12', 4 1/2") at the crown. That's not bad though two beds and a bookcase in a little over 16 square foot of floor space.
